I have had an enjoyable and insightful experience working with GDevelop, an intuitive game development platform. Its user-friendly interface and straightforward commands made it easy to create and design levels, even for experimental projects. I appreciated how seamlessly I could implement mechanics like falling, jumping, floating, and changing sizes, allowing me to explore different possibilities with minimal effort.
For my projects, I focused on creating various levels using simple cube-based designs. These levels served as a playground to experiment with core mechanics and interactions, such as exploration, physics-based movements, and transformations. While GDevelop impressed me with its accessibility and ease of use, I would love to see more flexibility in the engine, providing greater creative control and customization options.
Overall, my time with GDevelop was both fun and productive, allowing me to explore game development concepts while crafting playable prototypes with ease.
EXPIREMTING WITH OTHER THINGS
In my Character Simulation and Placement class, I explored creating small prototypes to test various ideas and concepts. GDevelop proved to be an excellent quick prototyping tool, enabling me to efficiently experiment with different mechanics and gameplay elements. Its user-friendly interface allowed me to focus on creativity rather than getting bogged down by complex systems.
With GDevelop, I crafted simple cube-based levels where I explored mechanics like falling, jumping, floating, and size-changing. These projects helped me visualize and refine gameplay interactions, serving as a sandbox for experimentation. The engine’s ease of use made it an invaluable resource for quickly iterating on ideas and trying out concepts in real-time.
